Tokyo Disney Sea

Although Walt Disney World and Disneyland Anaheim are arguably the two most well-known Disney parks, the Walt Disney Company proudly boasts twelve theme parks around the world, six of which are located outside of the U.S.

Situated in Paris, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Tokyo, these parks perfectly capture the magic of Disney and boast their very own unique offerings that help to make each individual location feel truly exclusive.

These international parks feature a variety of elements that aren’t available within their U.S. counterparts, so without further ado, here are just a few of the most exciting attractions and experiences within these international parks that make U.S. Disney fans very jealous indeed!

1.Disneyland Paris’ La Taniere Du Dragon

The flagship of every Disney park is, of course, the castle at the end of Main Street, however, Disneyland Paris takes this one step further by hiding an incredibly special experience within the surrounding area of their park icon.

Guests can take a wander beneath Sleeping Beauty’s castle and gander at the stunning animatronic dragon that sleeps beneath it. This beautiful walk-through experience makes for a truly epic addition to the park and is just one of Disneyland Paris’ beloved little ‘secrets.’

2.Tokyo DisneySea’s Next-Level Theming

Tokyo DisneySea is inspired by the myths and legends of the sea and features seven different areas that boast breathtaking scenery that truly must be seen to be believed.

While the U.S. Disney parks also feature their own jaw-dropping scenery, Tokyo DisneySea is truly one of a kind in its fantastical theming, which easily takes the crown when it comes to full-on immersive magic.

3.Shanghai’s Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle For The Sunken Treasure

Shanghai’s TRON: Lightcycle Power Run may have already made its way over to Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom however, this is not the only attraction within the Shanghai park that has made U.S. parks fans envious over the years.

While both Walt Disney World and Disneyland Anaheim’s Pirates of the Caribbean rides are firm fan favorites within their respective parks, Shanghai’s iteration of this attraction takes this family-friendly adventure and dials it up to a hundred.

The ride features brand-new technology that makes it the most advanced version of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride to date, blending practical sets with incredibly realistic-looking visuals that guide you through the ride's story as you journey down to the depths of the ocean in search of Davy Jones’ treasure.

4.Disneyland Paris’ Disney D-Light Show

When it comes to nighttime entertainment, U.S. Disney parks fans are able to enjoy breathtaking offerings such as the new "Luminous The Symphony of Us" at EPCOT or World of Color over in Disney's California Adventure park (to name just two.)

However, Disneyland Paris’ addition of their Disney D-Light nighttime spectacular last year is undoubtedly something that many are hoping will eventually make the jump across the Atlantic. This stunning show featured 200 drones equipped with LED lights that danced across the sky in formation, creating various shapes that were instantly recognizable to the awe-inspired audiences who watched from below.
