Though Walt Disney World’s Blizzard Beach reopened to guests on March 7, 2021, just in time for the park’s 25th anniversary, one park that has yet to reopen is Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, which has been closed for nearly two years since the original closure in March 2020. And while we doubt Disney will reopen this park anytime in 2021 since temperatures in Florida will be cooling in the coming weeks, could we see a reopening next year?
Though Disney has yet to offer any kind of official word on the future of Typhoon Lagoon, new permits have been filed recently for general construction work and electrical work at various locations within the park, including the wave pool, and several popular water slides.
Social media photos have shown the park in various states of disrepair over the past few months, and it’s clear that some serious work will need to be done before Typhoon Lagoon is ready to welcome guests once again. However, it looks like Disney may finally be ready to get this park back up and running again, potentially sometime next year.
Do you think Walt Disney World will reopen Typhoon Lagoon anytime in the near future? And when it does reopen, will you be heading back to this park?
