News that Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World is scheduled to close at 5:00PM on Wednesday April 6, 2022 has been creating a stir online over the last couple of days.
It was spotted on the official Walt Disney World calendar that instead of the usual 9:00PM closure, Disney’s Hollywood Studios will instead close at 5:00PM, meaning that guests will lose a very valuable four hours of park time. All other days currently seem to be scheduled to close at the usual time so it appears to be a one off.
For those of you perhaps thinking it is a mistake, this 5:00PM closure is replicated in My Disney Experience App so it seems unlikely.
There has been no reason officially given by Disney for this very unexpected early closure but we are guessing it will be perhaps due to a private function or it may be a Cast Member event. This closure, however, is likely to be hugely unpopular for guests especially for those already with full day plans at Disney’s Hollywood Studios for April 6. There should still be the option for Park Hopping.
Some guests may choose to avoid Disney’s Hollywood Studios completely on April 6, especially if they don’t have the Park Hopping option or some may decide to go, hoping it will be a quieter day with fewer crowds but knowing they need to fit in as much as they can before the 5:00PM close.
It is always advisable to check on the Walt Disney World calendar prior to your visit to check that there aren’t any unusual closures such as this one. Let us know what you think about this strange closure by leaving us a comment below or on our Facebook page.
