Walt Disney World has announced that it has relaxed its mask requirement for Cast Members effective November 8th and will no longer require masks to be worn for fully vaccinated employees in backstage areas. However, it looks like masks will still be required for Cast Members when in guest-facing indoor areas, regardless of vaccination status.
As of right now face coverings are still required for all guests (ages 2 and up) in all indoor locations, regardless of vaccination status. This includes upon entering and throughout all indoor attractions and indoor queues and in Disney buses, monorail and Disney Skyliner, regardless of vaccination status. Face coverings are optional in outdoor areas.
Last month, the Orange County local state of emergency related to COVID-19 expired, which has paved the way for Walt Disney World to relax mandatory masks for guests in indoor areas at the theme parks, but so far no announcements have been made about when this change could be made.
With colder months approaching, perhaps Disney is waiting to see if there will be a seasonal surge in cases before making the change for guests. When do you think mask requirements for guests will be loosened?
