Though Walt Disney World has been back to full capacity for quite some time, guests visiting the resort over the summer have still had to deal with limited transportation options at the resort. However, it looks like Disney may finally be ready to bring back up some of their transportation options in the near future after being unavailable for over a year:
First up, the Epcot Monorail will officially reopen this weekend on Sunday, July 18 after being closed since March 2020 when the parks initially closed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Because of this reopening, bus service from Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney’s Contemporary Resort and eventually Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will be discontinued since the monorail will be available.
And though there is no date yet, it looks like parking trams, which have been parked at the Magic Kingdom for over a year, have been seen moving around in recent days, leading many to hypothesize that the parking tram service could FINALLY be returning to the Magic Kingdom (and potentially other parks as well) in the near future.
Though there are still plenty of Pandemic-related changes that we’re still waiting on rollbacks for (mainly in the entertainment department), it looks like transportation at Walt Disney World may finally be getting back to what guests are more used to.
