Walt Disney World Adds “Park Hopping Hours” to Official Calendar

In just a few weeks park hopping will officially be back at Walt Disney World as of January 1, 2021, and to help guests prepare for this change, Walt Disney World has updated its official calendar here to show “Park hopping hours” during which guests can leave the park they originally had a reservation for and visit a different park. Of course, the process is a little different than what guests may have been used to in the past, and there are some important policies that will be enforced that guests planning to visit multiple parks should know about.

  • Guests must still make a Disney Park Pass reservation for the first park they plan to visit AND enter that first park prior to visiting another. At this time, a park reservation is not required after the first park, however, reservation requirements are subject to change.
  • Guests visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios from another theme park will not be able to request to join the virtual queue for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, as only guests with reservations for this park are able to secure a boarding group. More on this policy can be found here
  • Park Hopping will only be available during specific Park Hopper hours, which will start at 2:00 PM. each day and end at the park’s scheduled close time.
  • Guests will continue to have the option to visit multiple parks as long as they have a ticket or pass valid for admission to that park on that same day. Please note that the ability to visit another park will be subject to the park’s capacity limitations.

Though the return of the Park Hopper option at Walt Disney World is one that theme park fans have been waiting on since the reopening, our recent BIG DEBATE poll found that for many, simply adding back this option isn’t enough to make them consider a trip to Walt Disney World in 2021.
