Just last week we saw the walls come down in front of VelociCoaster and Universal officially revealed the VelociCoaster ride vehicles, including a short preview of of one of the launches. This week it appears that daytime testing has begun at Universal’s Islands of Adventure.
Footage of the daytime testing has been posted to thecoasterkings.com including a photo update of the progress which has been made to the attraction in the last couple of weeks.
Further vegetation can be seen within the VelociCoaster attraction, particularly around the entrance area, which successfully softens the stark concrete look there once was. Water plants have also been added around the attraction, again to obscure the large concrete structure of this ride.
We discover that a large waterfall will be housed in the rockwork on the front side of the attraction and construction appears to be underway on an interesting new building or patio in the Lost Continent.
From the photo footage of the VelociCoaster testing it can be seen that the train will fit 24 passengers, although when this ride opens, physical distancing may limit this. The train looks to navigate the track very smoothly and the top hat element and near vertical drop looks truly thrilling. Embedded below is a video of VelociCoaster testing at Universal’s Islands of Adventure this week.
