This year’s Mardi Gras 2021: International Flavors of Carnaval was originally set to run through Sunday, March 28, but was extended an additional two weeks through April 11 due to popular demand. And now it has been announced that this year’s event will now run through Sunday, May 2, making this officially the longest Mardi Gras celebration at Universal Orlando Resort ever!
This year’s event has been focused more on authentic cuisine inspired by the most iconic Carnaval festivities across the globe since there haven’t been any parades or concerts this year. During this extended event guests at Universal Studios Florida can continue to enjoy vibrant décor and the opportunity to get up close with spectacular and intricately-detailed Mardi Gras floats stationed throughout the theme park.
Guests can also enjoy a Big Easy bash in the streets with energetic dancers and stilt performers in extraordinary costumes, brass band musicians, countless beads and a newly-themed Mardi Gras Tribute Store stocked with new merchandise that will give guests the perfect look for this epic celebration.
Those who are wanting to visit the park and check out this newly extended event will need to head out early, as the park has been filling to capacity before noon most days over the past few weeks as demand for theme parks continues to surge during the Spring Break holiday period.
