The 50th Anniversary Celebration is well underway at Walt Disney World, and there is a myriad of new things to try. New experiences, entertainment, and LOTS of food. It can be overwhelming to sift through all the new things. We are here to make that a little bit easier for you. We have a shortlist of some of the best 50th Anniversary Celebration snacks and treats that you may want to check out if you are heading to Walt Disney World for the World’s Most Magical Celebration.
Sweet:
Under the sweet category, we have two decadent treats. First is the 50th Celebration Tart found at The Market at Compass and Ale. This dessert features a birthday cake mousse dome topping a chocolate mousse-filled vanilla tart. It is topped with mini chocolate pearls, buttercream, and chocolate details.
The second sweet treat that you may want to check out is the Pressed Penny Silk Pie found at Casey’s Corner in Magic Kingdom. This pie includes a chocolate tart shell with silky chocolate filling, sweet whipped cream, and an adorable chocolate-pressed penny.
Savory:
In the savory category, we have two alternatives to the same old, regular sandwich or burger. First up is the Mission to Mars found at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe in Magic Kingdom. This burger is topped with bacon and macaroni and cheese. It is served on a bun that is dusted with crushed cheese puffs. While messy, it is delicious.
Next, we have the Monte Cristo sandwich found at The Plaza Restaurant in Magic Kingdom. This sandwich is covered deep-fried in funnel cake batter and includes bacon, roasted turkey, and provolone. It is dusted with EARidescent powdered sugar and served with a strawberry jam for dipping. To be honest, it had me at deep-fried and bacon.
Shareable:
We have two shareable ice cream treats under this category. The first is unlike any sundae you have had before. Cheers to 50 Years! found at The Plaza Restaurant in Magic Kingdom is a colossal dessert. It starts with chocolate and vanilla ice cream and is topped with not one but 5 other snacks! Topping this crazy sundae are brownies, cupcakes, cookie pieces, pretzel rods, whipped cream, EARidescent sugar, hot fudge and cherries. It does not stop there though. Rounding out this concoction is a whole Mickey pretzel drizzled with caramel and chocolate icing and sprinkles!
If you are looking for a simpler sundae, you may want to try the Uncle Orville Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow Sundae. This sundae, found at Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies in Magic Kingdom, features chocolate and vanilla soft-serve, brownie pieces, hot fudge, whipped cream. It’s all served in a little bathtub! We love to see the nod to one of Walt Disney World’s oldest running attractions, Carousel of Progress.
Spicy:
We only have one snack under this category. If you head to Tony’s Town Square Restaurant be sure to check out the Five Alarm Wings. These chicken wings are smothered in a sweet and spicy heat sauce and served with ranch.
Drinks:
The first drink is a non-alcoholic option. Found at Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen is the Adventureland Colada. This iced beverage is made with pineapple DOLE Whip, coconut cream, and passion fruit.
If you are looking for an alcoholic beverage, check out the Magic Beacon Cocktail found at various locations throughout Walt Disney World. This beverage includes gin, blue curaçao, hibiscus grenadine, Minute Maid Premium Lemonade, orgeat (almond) syrup, and lemon. It also includes a souvenir glow cube.
