It was at the D23 Expo at the beginning of September that two very special guests were welcomed, The Mandalorian and Grogu, to the stage at the Parks, Experiences and Products panel, to confirm their incredibly exciting and long-awaited addition to the meet and greet line up at Disneyland’s Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge this November.
The long wait is now over! The Mandalorian and Grogu had an amazing return to Galaxy’s Edge yesterday and will continue to entertain Star Wars fans during their meet and greet from now on.

The opening of Galaxy’s Edge at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World has introduced some very exciting faces from all across the galaxy, who are available to meet and greet with guests that make the journey over to the land of Batuu. Paired with the success of Disney’s Star Wars-adjacent series, The Mandalorian, guests have been hoping to see the show’s titular character, otherwise known as Din Djarin, and pop culture phenomenon himself, Grogu (or more affectionately known as Baby Yoda) make their way into the park to meet with guests.
Disney Parks chairman Josh D’Amaro and The Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau took the stage at D23 to discuss the pair’s exciting arrival at Disneyland park confirming that, behind the scenes, these two characters have been in the works for a long time. The Mandalorian character spoke with D’Amaro and Faverau on stage, an element that is likely to carry over into the character’s guest interactions within the park.
It is not known whether The Mandalorian and Grogu will make their way over to Walt Disney World just yet, though its likely guests would love to see the pair make their debut in Hollywood Studios’ Galaxy’s Edge at some point in the future.
Are you excited to meet The Mandalorian and Grogu in Galaxy’s Edge? Who else would you like to see make the leap over to Batuu?
