The finale of the Gran Fiesta Tour animatronic has felt a little flat lately with the normally lively Three Caballeros animatronic figures replaced by stoic cardboard cutouts. However, Walt Disney Imagineer Zach Riddley announced via his Instagram that The Three Caballeros audio-animatronics have returned to the Gran Fiesta Tour after a nearly four-month-long absence.
Riddley also shared an inside look at these animatronics being fixed up backstage, sharing that Disney’s Imagineering team restored these half-century old Audio-Animatronic figures from the ground up using the latest technology to replace components that were originally made by hand almost 50 years ago.
The audio-animatronics are definitely an important part of Walt Disney World history as they were part of the Magic Kingdom’s opening day Mickey Mouse Revue attraction before being moved to Tokyo Disneyland before returning to Walt Disney World as part of the Gran Fiesta Tour in 2015.
You can stop by the Mexico Pavilion at Epcot to see the Donald Duck, Panchito, and José Carioca animatronics back in action on the Gran Fiesta Tour today!
