The hype around the opening of Super Nintendo World has been building to a frenzy over the last few months. Universal Studios Japan officially announced on January 14, 2021 that due to the state of emergency regarding COVID-19 in Osaka the proposed February 4 opening of Super Nintendo World would be delayed.
However, Super Nintendo World seems to have soft opened yesterday as TDR Explorer which is an unofficial publication posted a number of videos from inside Super Nintendo World. A walk through video of this new incredible land is embedded below:
Super Nintendo World is fully immersive in that all guests receive a wristband that works with a mobile app which allows you to collect virtual keys and stamps, solve puzzles and unlock special attractions. Leaderboards displayed within Super Nintendo World track visitors who earn the most points on specific rides as well as throughout the whole day.
For many of us, visiting Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan seems a somewhat distant dream but at least through this video we can get a glimpse of what could be in store for guests at Universal Studios Hollywood (where Super Nintendo World is currently under construction!) and hopefully one day at Universal Orlando Resort.
