Super Nintendo World Confirmed (Again) for Universal Orlando Resort

Over the weekend we were treated to a walk-through of the brand-new Super Nintendo World area at Universal Studios Japan, which included an all-new look at the interactive “activities” guests visiting this land can experience, as well as another preview of the AR-powered Mario Kart game.

And though we know that construction is already underway at Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios, with Universal’s Epic Universe on hold indefinitely, many had wondered if this new land would still be coming to Universal Orlando Resort.

However, it was confirmed in the video walkthrough over the weekend that this new land is Orlando-bound, even if we don’t have an exact idea of when or even where construction will begin. According to the rumor mill, Super Nintendo World was originally planned for the KidsZone area of Universal Studios Florida before reportedly being moved to the Universal’s Epic Universe project. However, with that project in limbo, perhaps this project is on the move again.

Then again, this could also be a sign that Universal’s Epic Universe will proceed as planned, which of course would be great news considering how many theme park projects have been stalled or cancelled in 2020.

Whatever the case ends up being, we’re happy to hear that Super Nintendo World is still being planned for Universal Orlando Resort, and we can’t wait to hear more about this project, hopefully in 2021!
