UPDATE – Splash Mountain reopened at Disney’s Magic Kingdom at approximately 2:00PM. The attraction was only therefore actually closed for a few hours, meaning whatever issue it had was likely a minor one. We are hoping we won’t see any further down time for Splash Mountain in the coming days or weeks.
There would have been disappointment for those guests at Disney’s Magic Kingdom this morning as the extremely popular Splash Mountain attraction was closed from park opening until approximately 2:00PM.
We still haven’t got any further details as to why Splash Mountain didn’t open with the rest of the park this morning but we assume as it is now back up and running that whatever issue it had, was a minor one which was easily solved.
Splash Mountain closed on January 10, 2022 for its annual refurbishment and reopened after a month on February 11, 2022. So, there wasn’t any scheduled refurbishments in the calendar for this attraction, meaning that the closure was likely down to some sort of malfunction or technical issue.
We are still waiting to hear further details about the planned Princess and the Frog reimagining for Splash Mountain including a time line for when we can expect the attraction to close in order for the overhaul to begin. We will keep you posted on this on our news and Facebook page.
