The Give a Day, Get a Disney Day program allows any US, Canadian or Puerto Rican resident to receive a free ticket for a Disney theme park in exchange for volunteering for a day at a participating charitable organisation.
The offer is available from January 1, 2010, and is limited to one million free tickets. To qualify, volunteers will must register with a participating organization through Disney’s website (in the US or Canada).
Tickets will be available for Disney’s California parks (Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure) and Walt Disney World Resort parks (the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom).
The offer is available to anyone over the age of 6, although you need to be at least 18 to register on Disney’s website. Unlike Disney’s free admission on your birthday offer – which expires at the end of 2009 – the new program allows an entire family or group to receive a free ticket for the same day.
Annual passholders can also participate, and can select from one of three alternatives to the free ticket:
- Fastpass cards for select attractions for up to 6 people.
- A collectable Ear Hat figurine with exclusive trading pins.
- The ability to donate the free ticket to a non-profit organization (that will be designated by Disney)
