Space Mountain At Disneyland Park Is Now Closed For Extended Refurbishment

Whilst we know routine refurbishments are inevitable throughout the year, the news that the very popular Space Mountain at Disneyland Park has now closed for an extended refurbishment is a very annoying one for guests over the busy Halloween season.

Although on a number of websites, it has been reported that Space Mountain will reopen October 26, it has actually been confirmed on the official website that Space Mountain will reopen on October 27, right at the end of this popular and busy time at Disneyland Park.

No one will question the need for this extended refurbishment as Space Mountain has been suffering from a number of issues in recent months.

According to the OCRegister, the systems on Space Mountain will be updated in order to prevent downtime in the future. We also expect work to be done on the tunnel lighting. Majority of the lights in the blue tunnel were reported to be burnt out back in July making this iconic section of the ride duller than it should be.

There are no major updates expected during this extended refurbishment and for some, the Ghost Galaxy holiday overlay will be missed as it was confirmed this addition would not be coming to Space Mountain this year.

From October 27, guests will be able to enjoy the refurbished Space Mountain at Disneyland Park and we hope the blue tunnel will come to life once again and downtime will be a thing of the past.
