Last year Disney announced that Snow White’s Scary Adventures at Disneyland would be “reimagined” with enhanced story details and new scenes. And though Disneyland has been shut down since March, it looks like work is almost done on this updated attraction, which will now be called “Snow White’s Enchanted Wish”
Among the changes that have newly been revealed for this attraction is a new “cottage scene” which includes Snow White cheerfully dancing and twirling with the Seven Dwarfs in their cozy cottage while the scent of freshly-baked apple pie wafts in the air.
Another big change is to the mine scene, which sparkles with shimmering lighting effects and glittering jewels all around and uses new animation and projection technology to bring the scene to life. You can check out a partial ride-through of this updated attraction on TikTok here.
These changes are in addition to the formerly announced additions which include a vignette showing Snow White in a forest, recalling the scene from the film where the original Disney princess awakes from her deep sleep following true love’s kiss. In addition, a new finale where Snow White is reunited with her animal friends, and a large and welcoming castle is seen in the distance will be added during this refurbishment.
Though these changes and the new name mean this is the official end for Snow White’s Scary Adventures in the United States (it was demolished at the Magic Kingdom prior to the New Fantasyland Project) Disneyland Paris and Tokyo Disneyland still have their own “scary” versions of this attraction.
Right now there is no opening timetable for Disneyland’s reimagined attraction as the parks remain closed due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, but we’d imagine Snow White’s Enchanted Wish will open shortly after the parks reopen, as this attraction refresh looks just about complete.
