Fans of Six Flags Fiesta Texas will be rejoicing today as the long-shuttered, Wonder Woman Golden Lasso roller coaster, reopens today (Friday September 29) after a lengthy closure.
Wonder Woman Golden Lasso closed on July 6, 2023 at Six Flags Fiesta Texas to begin the first phase of an extended refurbishment which aims to bring the world’s first RMC Raptor single-rail roller coaster back to its former glory.
During this almost three month refurbishment, it has been confirmed by Six Flags Fiesta Texas park president, Jeffrey Siebert that work has been carried out on the control systems and track as well as the ride’s station.
Manufactured by Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC), Wonder Woman Golden Lasso Coaster opened at Six Flags Fiesta Texas in 2018. Since then, RMC has built similar Raptor single-rail roller coaster’s at California’s Great America (Railblazer) and Idaho’s Silverwood (Stunt Pilot).
Wonder Woman Golden Lasso Coaster is due to close again in 2024 for Phase 2 of this extensive refurbishment in order to add new trains and enhance guest comfort. So far an exact date for this closure has not been announced.
Wonder Woman Golden Lasso is located in Rockville and reaches a top speed of 52mph on its 1800ft track. It includes a 90 degree vertical drop, a zero G roll and high speed loops.
