Just a week after reports surfaced regarding an extended timeline for the development of the Princess and the Frog re-theme of the Splash Mountain attraction, it looks like there is a little bit of new news to share about this project’s behind-the-scenes development.
Though we still don’t have an opening target or any kind of closure window for the current version of Splash Mountain, News 13 journalist Ashley Carter recently shared via Twitter that Disney commissioned New Orleans-based artist Sharika Mahdi to create a series of paintings as inspiration for Imagineers developing the attraction, one of which will be shared next week on August 23.
Hopefully alongside this artwork Disney will also share some additional details about what we can expect from this reimagined attraction and when work will actually get started on bringing the world of Tiana, Naveen and all their friends to life.
As we mentioned previously, it seems very positive that work is progressing behind the scenes on this attraction, and we can’t wait to get more information soon about this long-awaited reimagining. Are you excited to hear more about this upcoming attraction next week?
