Photos: The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley Construction Update

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley is going to be the newest land at Universal Studios Florida when it opens in summer 2014.

These photos are from Islands of Adventure, where the Hogwarts Express will take guests from Diagon Alley to the current Hogsmeade and vise-versa.

The station will be located right next to Dueling Dragons. If you have a chance to take a ride on Dueling Dragons, you can see the Hogwarts Express on its tracks and the rest of the station. Unfortunately, I was not brave enough to have my camera out to take a few photos.

Now we’ll take a look at Universal Studios.

The facade by the lake is nearly all completed, but there are plenty of unfinished facades further back.

I know Diagon Alley is not complete, but as I was walking around the park, I noticed several locations that showed backstage areas. In the last two images, I could see the back of the lakefront and I’m pretty sure those building are the back of Diagon Alley. Maybe that’s how it was designed since it is a studios park or they’ll add trees later to obscure this view. Even at Hogsmeade, the show building for Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey is clearly visible.

This photo was not taken backstage, but I can see the Hogwarts Express. It’s cool to see how everything works, but if I can see the Hogwarts Express traveling backwards it would be a little weird. Either way, the new land is going to be stunning and a great addition to Universal.
