The Villas at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa in the Walt Disney World Resort are set to open in less than two months from now and the building structure is nearly completed. Earlier this month all of the scaffolding was removed from the Villas to reveal the exterior details. These photos were taken on August 20, 2013.
The building is truly stunning and matches well with the rest of the resort. It is not an exact replica but close enough that over time people will hardly tell the difference.

This is the new pathway from the Polynesian/Wedding Pavilion to the main building.

The new building is about 2 -3 floors taller than the original buildings and that is what mostly differentiates the two.

The enclosed staircase (the big white slab on the side) also makes the building look different. I don’t know if it looks better because the rest of the buildings have open staircases and this just looks weird from afar.

Most of the work left is interior or ground work such as road pavement. These are pictures taken from the monorial.

Also, because the Villas are taller, the roof is at a wider angle and doesn’t have as steep of a slope. The color of the roof also seems to be a slightly darker shade red than the rest of the resort. Maybe it will fade over time.

The Villas at the Grand Floridian looks to be as beautiful as the buildings next door, but it will cost an arm and a leg to walk through those doors come October!
