The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train officially opens on May 28, 2014 at the Magic Kingdom, but it’s certainly a sight to see.
The roller coaster and the faux mountain that it winds around have become the visual centerpieces of the New Fantasyland area of the Magic Kingdom. Fittingly, Disney has lavished attention on every aspect of the ride’s theming. Let’s take a look!
Every construction wall in New Fantasyland has been removed to reveal the beautiful attraction:
Here’s the view as you are walking into New Fantasyland:
The entrance is across from Hundred Acre Goods (The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh exit):
Dedicated stroller parking has been added:
The queue line looks really long. This picture can’t show just how long the outdoor portion queue can get:
As we walk around past Mad Tea Party we find the first lift hill. The train will exit the loading dock underneath the hill:
The twists and turns should make for an exciting ride:
After the indoor show scene, the train will go up a lift and exit from this hill:
Nobody was riding the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train while I was visiting, but the trains were operating in 45-second intervals for a few hours. This means they are finally training Cast Members to work with multiple trains running.
The trains run nearly silent and come very close to the edge. Also. If you are by the Be Our Guest Restaurant, you could hear the “heigh-ho” jingle from the show scene.
The attraction is visually stunning and adds much needed greenery to the park. It is also the only attraction I remember that I can walk around and physically “look down” into.
Roll on May 28!
