Walt Disney World will be testing their new MyMagic+ system between August 2 and August 24 with select guests staying at the Contemporary Resort, Yacht Club Resort, Animal Kingdom Lodge and Pop Century Resort. This test includes testing of the MagicBands and the Fastpass+ system, which enables guests to book slots to ride their favourite attractions without waiting in the standard queue. MyMagic+ is set to roll-out to the general public later this year.
I will be staying at Pop Century between those dates and was lucky enough to be invited into the testing of MyMagic+. I customized and ordered my MagicBands on a Sunday and they arrived two days later on Tuesday. My MagicBand will contain my resort key, my annual pass, my FastPass+ reservations and charging abilities for touch-to-pay systems.
They arrived via UPS in this white box. The Incredibles graphic was a nice touch.
I ordered a green and blue MagicBand for my brother and I. The names of the owner are printed below each band (blurred out in the photo).
Inside the box are simple instructions for the MagicBands.
The grey part can peel off for small children.
The band feels like rubber and is very light. Inside are your name and other identification numbers (blurred out in the photo)
Overall, I am really excited to be testing the bands at the parks. How much of a convenience they are and if they will bother a person who has never worn a watch like myself, are questions that I will like to find out. Feel free to post any questions in the comments below!
