SeaWorld Orlando’s highly anticipated Ice Breaker coaster which was originally due to open in Spring 2021, finally opened to the public on February 18, 2022. Since the official opening, SeaWorld has released a statement regarding the height restriction.
When Ice Breaker opened on February 18, 2022 the height restriction was set at 48-inches meaning younger guests could ride, making it a more family-friendly attraction at SeaWorld Orlando.
SeaWorld has now increased the height restriction to 54 inches on their official page and released this statement, “Ice Breaker is one of the most anticipated coasters of 2022 and it has been extremely popular among guests since opening Feb. 18. We are experiencing some operational issues with smaller riders and so out of an abundance of caution, we raised the height restriction from 48 inches to 54 inches for the time being as we work with the manufacturer and safety professionals to make adjustments. Ensuring our guests have a safe and thrilling experience in our park remains our top priority.”
There are no further details regarding these “operational issues” but SeaWorld is working with the manufacturer to rectify this so we hope to see the original 48-inch height restriction reinstated soon.
Ice Breaker blasts guests through four different launches, both backwards and forwards, culminating in a reverse launch into the steepest beyond vertical drop in Florida — a 93-foot tall spike with 100-degree angle. We will keep you posted on any further updates on the Ice Breaker height restriction on our News and Facebook page.
