UPDATE April 22 – It has been a very long time since it was first announced that Universal Studios Florida would be getting a new parade to replace The Superstar Parade which did its last run on June 4, 2022.
Universal has recently released a teaser video on its official Twitter page which is embedded below and gives us a glimpse at the potential movies we could see being included in the new parade which is slated to debut this summer.

As you can see the alarm clock is set to 10:06 which is likely a reference to the clock tower in Back To The Future and the red hoodie likely relates to Elliot in E.T as well as the 80s style phone seen later on. The last items pulled out of the box are some teeth which could mean Jaws and green slime which surely relates to The Ghostbusters.
Moving to more modern offerings there is the onion which surely represents Shrek and the pot of noodles for Kung Fu Panda with the glitter likely referring to The Trolls.
Whilst none of these films have currently been confirmed by Universal, it certainly seems likely that we will see a combination of classic films from the past and present included in the upcoming “Universal Mega Movie Parade”.
November 29, 2023 – When Universal officially announced the permanent ending for the popular Superstar Parade back in June 2022 we were promised that it was “to make way for new entertainment experiences.”
Well, last week reporter Alicia Stella posted on twitter that Universal has trademarked a new name to be used in its theme parks, UNIVERSAL MEGA MOVIE PARADE.

Although details are still very scarce regarding this rumored new parade name, there were rumors back in 2022 that Universal were working on a new parade for 2024 and it appears likely that with this recent filing of the trademark name that UNIVERSAL MEGA MOVIE PARADE will be it.
We are currently unsure of which movies will be included in the parade and will await confirmation if drones will be used. We are expecting to hear more in the coming weeks and will keep you updated with further details regarding the content and opening of the new parade at Universal Studios Florida. As already mentioned, a date has not yet been confirmed by Universal for the ending of Universal’s Superstar Parade but it looks from all the speculation online that it is likely to happen at some point in the near future.
The Universal’s Superstar Parade currently takes place through the streets of Universal Studios Florida where guests can enjoy street performers and music with floats featuring popular characters including; SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora and Diego, Gru, Agnes, Margo, Edith and the Minions from Illumination’s Despicable Me as well as from The Secret Life of Pets.
