Earlier this year Disney confirmed that the fan favorite Jungle Cruise attraction at both Disneyland park and the Magic Kingdom will be reimagined in the near future to include a new story and creative concept which will allow guests to follow a Jungle Cruise skipper and their passengers as a journey goes awry. And now additional details have been shared about the attraction’s backstory, which will be centered around Alberta Falls, granddaughter of world-renowned Dr. Albert Falls (Who S.E.A. fans will undoubtedly recognize), as the proprietor of the Jungle Navigation Company Ltd. It was previously announced that this reimagined ride will feature new scenes that are all interconnected including one that features an animatronic skipper, who’s been chased up the pole by a rhino, along with the other explorers and a sunken boat with chimps onboard the wreckage causing monkey business. As was confirmed last January, the goal of this upcoming reimagining is to update this classic attraction with “more humor, wildlife and skipper heart – and also reflect and value the diversity of the world around us.”
Right now there is no schedule for when this attraction will close and this refurbishment will begin, but Disney has said that they will be sharing more information about this project in the near future, as the project is set to kick off sometime later this year.
