With the Roundup Rodeo BBQ now open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios we wanted to point you in the direction of a review as soon as possible and the new video posted to YouTube by DIS Unplugged gives an extensive review of this new restaurant in Toy Story Land.
It shows all the very impressive theming which makes the restaurant extremely immersive including pictures of Woody and Buzz and statue of Bo-Peep. Details are everywhere including on the jigsaw puzzle walls, kid style drawings and on the floors and ceilings. It certainly adheres to the aim that Andy made it in his back yard. There is a lot of seating with low lighting which will be a very positive thing for those looking to get out of the heat of the Florida sun.
Fun elements have been added including at times there are interjections of Andy talking at which point everyone freezes. There are also short dance parties where music plays and Cast Members dance. Children have the opportunity to ride small wooden hobby horses into the restaurant and some guests get to sign their bill with an oversized pencil.
The video includes a full review of the food on offer which includes the array of plant-based options for those wanting or needing to eat plant-based due to allergies. The gluten-free bread is also highly praised. You get to see the Prospector’s Cheddar biscuits with sweet pepper jelly and a selection of salads as well as the house smoked meat platters which are highly recommended, sides and the array of desert pie options.
The base meal price for an adult is $45 and $25 for a child (excluding drinks, taxes and gratuity). Note that currently there are no discounts at the moment for Annual Passholders or DVC members.
It certainly appears that you are getting your monies worth and the Roundup Rodeo BBQ is a great family dining location addition to the Disney’s Hollywood Studios which can be enjoyed by Toy Story fans with or without kids.
Earlier this month, Disney released a full POV video tour of the entire Roundup Rodeo BBQ Restaurant at Disney’s Hollywood Studios where you can clearly see the sheer attention to detail on every level from the ceilings down to the floors and guests dining at this restaurant will definitely feel that they are truly part of Woody’s world.
As has already been mentioned, the story behind this restaurant is that Andy has built it for all his friends to enjoy meaning it is crammed full of fun for all the family. Guests will be able to enjoy a whole host of “barbecue-inspired comfort foods served family-style” which will include platters of house-smoked meats, sides and miniature sweet treats.
We now know these will include: Prospector’s Homemade Cheddar Biscuits served with sweet pepper jelly, a range of salads including, Rex’s Romaine and Kale Salad and Watermelon Salad. There is a whole host of house-smoked meats including; Evil Dr. Smoked Ribs, Buttercup’s Beef Brisket and BBQ Chicken – with Style! Plant-based options are also on offer including Slow-smoked Cauliflower and Oven-roasted “Bratwurst”. There are a range of sides to choose from; The Married Spuds, Cowpoke Corn on the Cob and Slinky Doooooooooog Mac & Cheese.
To finish guests can choose a selection of picnic favorites such as Lemon and Blueberry Cheesecake, Gruff’s Peach-Strawberry Pie or Cupcake à la Forky.
Disney has worked in collaboration with Disney Pixar Animation Studios to bring iconic characters to life in the figures and images of Andy himself, Jessie, Trixie and Bo Peep with her sheep Billy, Goat and Gruff. Comic strips fill the ceilings.
