As Disney continues to make tweaks and changes to the Genie+ and Lightning Lane systems during their first few days in use there has been a substantial adjustment to how return times are distributed for individual attraction Lightning Lane passes early in the morning.
When the service initially launched last week non-resort guests didn’t have to worry about attractions “selling out” before park opening, as Disney was releasing additional availability for individual Lightning Lane attraction purchases after park opening so all guests would have a chance to make their purchase (even if resort guests had access to some earlier times).
However, it looks like Disney has gone back on this policy, and is now releasing ALL availability for Lightning Lane individual attractions at 7:00 AM (when only resort guests can make purchases), and not releasing additional availability at theme park opening, which means that guests who are not staying on site may not be able to purchase Lightning Lane skip-the-line passes for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, which has been selling out prior to park opening.
Of course, even if regular day guests are not able to purchase Lightning Lane passes, they can still wait in standby lines for this attraction. Learn more about how to survive standby for this attraction here.
