Thorpe Park announced back in February on its official twitter page that Ghost Train is the resort’s newest ride experience. It was originally slated to open in Spring 2023 and it was confirmed at the beginning of May that the attraction will open on 26th May. It will replace the former attraction, Derren Brown’s Ghost Train Rise of the Demon which opened in 2017.
We now know that the minimum height requirement for guests to ride the new Ghost Train is 1.3m and it has been recommended for age 13+, it does however say on their twitter post below “but if you’re a little younger and feeling extra brave you’re good to ride” so as long as you are 1.3m or over and want to, you will be able to enjoy this new attraction when it opens.

Ghost Train will be one of the longest ride experiences in the UK and will feature live actors and multisensory effects in the aim to create a truly terrifying attraction. It is dubbed as “the next generation of ghost train will take you on a harrowing ride into the realms beneath THORPE PARK Resort to where the supernatural believers call home.”
Derren Brown’s Ghost Train Rise of the Demon used VR and has suffered at times with closures because of this. There will be no VR with the new Ghost Train where we are promised that “There’s nothing virtual about this petrifying experience, so prepare to meet your maker as you come face-to-face with horrors that dwell within.”
Thorpe Park started its 2023 season on 24th March and fans have now not got too much longer to wait until this new Ghost Train attraction opens on 26th May. Are you excited to ride the Ghost Train at Thorpe Park? Let us know your thoughts by leaving us a comment below or on our Facebook page.
