To say we are excited about the new Jurassic Park Coaster at Universal’s Islands of Adventure must be the understatement of the year. The hype is already being elevated to the max with construction photos and videos all over the web.
Last week we shared a detailed set of construction photos from thecoasterkings.com of how the Jurassic park coaster currently stands, including an exciting photo of a wrapped raptor being craned into the area.
The Jurassic Park Coaster is set to be a multi-launch roller coaster with twists and turns and a top hat element which has been reported to be loosely themed to the raptors seen in the Jurassic World series. Currently the official name hasn’t been confirmed yet but Universal has trademarked the name “Velocicoaster”. Here is the video:
You can clearly see the impressive rock work and greenery that is starting to take shape and the twisting and turning track which winds around the whole area looks fantastic. If you look closely, you will also be able to see lots of workers on the video, which is really encouraging. This video teases what guests are going to have in store when this new attraction opens.
Original plans, before the COVID-19 pandemic were set for an early 2021 opening, understandably there have been reports that this may now be pushed back to 2022. Construction work is clearly back on track in a big way so all we can do is wait and see and wait for an official annoucement from Universal.
With Universal’s proven track record for producing amazingly themed coasters, Hagrids Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure instantly springs to mind and with the classic back story of Jurassic Park, guests are surely going to be in for a thrilling ride when this coaster opens.
