Cirque du Soleil’s La Nouba at Disney Springs closed forever at the end of 2017, but just before it did, Disney confirmed that a new Cirque du Soleil production was being developed for this theater. But this time, this all-new show will have a uniquely Disney flair, and be unlike anything else either Disney or Cirque du Soleil have produced in the past. Based around some of Disney’s most iconic films, this new show will “draw its inspiration from Disney’s heritage of animation,” and will “celebrate Disney’s legacy of storytelling in Cirque du Soleil’s signature way, with a tribute to the one-of a kind craftsmanship that makes Disney so extraordinary.”
And though we’ve only heard the barest of details about this new show in the almost two years since the initial closing of La Nouba, Disney finally shared some new information about what guests can expect from this new show, which will be coming to Disney Springs early next year!
The show will be about a Disney animator, connecting with his child through classic Disney Characters

According to Disney, this new show will center on the story of a young girl and her father, who is a Disney animator. In an effort to connect with his child, the father sends his daughter on a magical journey of self-discovery in the world of Disney animation.
The main character will find this magical new land filled with familiar characters and music that will recall iconic moments from Disney’s storied animated classics vault. Though no specific characters or IPs have been confirmed to be appearing in this show yet, a piece of concept art shows the silhouette of Goofy, and we’d guess that the Fab 5 as well as some princesses and other classic Disney characters will be represented in this new show.

Disney has also worked with Cirque du Soleil to develop some interesting technology for this show, which will allow live actors to “interact” with new animation that is being created just for the show.

Tickets are already on sale, with six price levels for preview performances, ranging from $62.10-$152.10. After the show opens officially in April, the prices rise to from $69-$169. which is up by double digit percentages from La Nouba in its final years. However, it looks like initial ticket sales are pretty healthy, with several price levels already sold out for this new show’s opening weeks.
There still is no name for this show

While plot and pricing details have been revealed for the newest Cirque du Soleil show to come to Disney Springs, curiously Disney still has not announced a name for this upcoming entertainment offering. However, hopefully we’ll learn even more details about this still-untitled new show in the very near future.
