Exciting news has been announced by Chessington World of Adventures located in Greater London, England. The park are planning to open a new drop tower named ‘Croc Drop’ in Spring 2021.

This new drop tower will plunge riders 25m and has been in the pipeline for two years. It will be located in the Forbidden Kingdom zone of the park and is set to be a thrilling addition to their lineup.

It is customary for there to be a backstory to theme park rides and ‘Croc Drop’ certainly doesn’t disappoint here. There is a chilling story around this new attraction which is described on Chessington World of Adventures official website as:

“those daring will plunge 25m into the giant jaws of a crocodile, Sobek, the ancient Egyptian Crocodile God and protector of the Nile, who has been possessed by evil spirits, transforming him into a cruel deity. With the once fertile Nile laying stagnant, riders must take part in a ceremony to banish the evil spirits from Sobek, plunging into the crocodile’s soul and freeing the waters back into the Nile.”

Chessington World of Adventures has released a trailer for ‘Croc Drop’ which gives you a brief idea of what the look of this new attraction will be like, the video is embedded below:

The minimum height requirement for ‘Croc Drop’ is 1.2m and those guests between 1.2m and 1.3m must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 16 whilst anyone over 1.3m can ride alone.

Theme Parks in the UK would usually be set to kick off their proper season around Easter, with many having already opened in February for half term events. Due to COVID-19 and the current ongoing National Lockdown in the UK all theme parks are currently closed.
