NBA Experience Shuts Down Permanently After 7 Months of Operation

It was announced today that the The NBA Experience at Disney Springs, which opened a little over two years ago on August 12, 2019 will not reopen and is permanently closed. Though it has been technically two years since its first opening, the attraction only operated for 7 months due to the COVID-19 related resort closure in March 2020.  It never reopened to the public.

The decision to close the facility was a mutual decision made with the NBA and Disney has said that this will not impact their other partnerships with the NBA or their business relationship with the Orlando Magic.

Right now nothing has been shared about the future of this giant facility, but we’d imagine that something will likely be added to this corner of Disney Springs in the months to come, as this would be a large building to just leave empty.

The closure of the NBA Experience will also not affect operations at the nearby City Works Eatery & Pour House restaurant, which will not be shutting down. Did you ever check out this attraction? What do you think Disney should replace it with.
