UPDATE September 26 – You guessed it! The original Mr FREEZE is back at Six Flags Over Texas. Having heard at the end of August that September 11, 2022 would be the last day that fans could ride MR. FREEZE: Reverse Blast we knew Six Flags must have something up their sleeve.
It has now been confirmed on the official Six Flags Over Texas twitter page that the original Mr FREEZE is back, you can see a short video of the return of the forwards launch in the post below. August 30 – Six Flags Over Texas has just officially confirmed on their twitter page that the last time guests will get to ride the very popular MR. FREEZE: Reverse Blast is September 11, 2022!
However, before you go on an uncontrollable rant regarding the craziness of this news just wait a moment! It also says, “But do you really think it’s going away? Not a chance! Stay tuned for more…”

This ride is just too popular and with recent paintwork being done in 2021 to transform it back to its original light blue color, it makes absolutely no sense at all to close this roller coaster permanently.
MR. FREEZE opened at Six Flags Over Texas in 1998 and it was in 2012 that the trains were reversed meaning the ride now launches backwards, hence the Reverse Blast name. We assume that Six Flags has now made the decision to turn the ride back to its original form which first debuted in 1998.
