The Disney 100 Years of Wonder Celebration kicked off on January 27, at Disneyland Resort with the opening of Disneyland Park’s own version of Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway which used a virtual queue line only. This has become the norm for Disney when opening new attractions in recent years and was the same for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, Ratatouille and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. We also expect this system to be in place when TRON Lightcycle / Run opens on April 4.
Well, as of today (February 22) there will no longer be a virtual queue and this attraction will be accessed through a standby line. Disney has said that the use of the standby queue will be monitored and if needed the virtual queue will be used. You can keep up to date with how to access Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway on the Disneyland App.

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway is housed inside the El CapiTOON Theater located in CenTOONial Park at the entrance of the newly overhauled Mickey’s Toontown which is set to open on March 8, 2023.
The new attraction will put you in the wacky and unpredictable cartoon world of Mickey and Minnie, where you’ll board a train with Goofy as the engineer. “One magical moment after the next leads you to a zany, out-of-control adventure filled with surprising twists and turns that the entire family will enjoy!”
There has been speculation online that Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway will be closed during the evening firework displays. “Fantasmic!” and the new night-time spectacular, “Wondrous Journeys” are set to be performed most nights in Disneyland park.
