In January, Disney announced that Disney’s Magical Express service would be ending permanently at the start of 2022. This sparked huge concerns from many guests who had relied on Disney’s Magical Express to get them from Orlando International Airport to Walt Disney World at the start of their vacation and then back again at the end.
Mears, the transportation company who Disney used to provide Disney’s Magical Express, straightaway said “we intend to continue offering transportation services between the airport and all area theme parks and hotels to meet the demand of our visitors now and in the future.”
It has now been announced that starting in 2022, Mears Transportation Group will begin “Mears Connect” which will offer guests transport between Orlando’s International Airport and resorts in the Walt Disney World area. In a statement issued yesterday regarding “Mears Connect” Roger Chapin, a spokesperson for Mears said:
“It will provide fast and convenient transportation service for visitors in high occupancy vehicles, thereby reducing traffic and lowering environmental impacts. Guests can expect scheduled service, luggage handling, convenient airport terminal staging, and return trips from resorts to the airport. In addition, Mears will offer enhancements to ensure greater convenience and vehicle options.”
The big question for most is what the cost will be of “Mears Connect” and it was outlined in the announcement that this would be confirmed later this year. The news of “Mears Connect” should bring comfort to those guests who were disappointed when Disney announced the cancelling of Disney’s Magical Express. Roger Chapin reassures guests by saying:
“It is important for visitors to know they still have many of the same safe transportation options for their Orlando visit, all offered by the same company who has been providing seamless, economical, and hassle-free transportation for decades.”
