COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations are on the rise again in Los Angeles County in California, which unfortunately means that the county’s mask mandate will be kicking back in as of this weekend, with face masks once again required at all indoor locations in the county, regardless of vaccination status.
And as with all other public locations, this will apply to indoor areas of Universal Studios Hollywood. No specific announcement has been made just yet, but the county mandate will override the park’s current policy of not requiring masks for any guests, regardless of vaccination status, in any area.
Nearby Disneyland Resort is in Orange County, which has not had to reinstate mask mandates yet like its neighbor, so guests at this theme park can continue to visit without a mask. Of course, if COVID-19 cases rise in this area as well, we could see the mask policy reinstated here as well.
Currently, Universal Studios Hollywood’s website states, “We encourage all Guests to wear face coverings indoors,” but we expect that to change in the near future to reflect the updated mandate. You can check out their official website here for more.
