The beginning of 2023 brought with it an official confirmed return date for The Magic Happens Parade at Disneyland Park. It was originally slated to begin entertaining guests again from February 24 but due to inclement weather it actually returned yesterday (February 26).
Reporter, Scott Gustin has posted a number of photos on twitter of the returning parade which can be seen below.
Magic finally Happened.
Today marked the official return of Magic Happens at Disneyland. The parade ran for a few weeks in early 2020 and had been on hiatus for the last 1,081 days.

The Magic Happens Parade is described by Disney as “celebrating the awe-inspiring moments of magic that are at the heart of so many Disney stories. This parade reminds us we don’t need wings to fly, shooting stars were made to wish upon, and magic doesn’t stop at midnight.”
This parade originally debuted at Disneyland Park on February 27, 2020 just a few days before the theme park shut down due to COVID-19 and was created to celebrate Disneyland’s 65 years. A video is embedded below of the returning parade from The Entertainment Connection.
Disney fans will notice that there is a line missing from the original finale. The ‘Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah’ line has been removed and has been replaced with a line from the song “You Can Fly” which featured in Peter Pan. The new line is “think of the happiest things,”. This omission of the line, ‘Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah’ from the Song From The South will undoubtedly please some Disney fans but enrage others.
The Disney100 Celebration at Disneyland Resort officially began on January 27, 2023 bringing with it Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway as well the two new nighttime spectaculars, World of Color – One at Disney California Adventure and Wondrous Journeys Spectacular at Disneyland Park.
Disneyland’s Sleeping Beauty Castle will be donned in a special Disney100 overlay for the celebrations and Mickey’s Toontown reopens on March 8.
There is certainly going to be a whole host of reasons to visit the Disneyland resort in 2023 during the Disney100 celebrations. What are you most looking forward to seeing? Let us know your thoughts by leaving us a comment below or on our Facebook page.
