Though Disney CEO Bob Chapek has said that they is targeting a late April reopening for the Disneyland Resort theme parks, next-door neighbor Knott’s Berry Farm is taking a bit more of a conservative approach to their reopening, and have announced that they anticipate welcoming guests back to the park this May. This somewhat delayed reopening is so that health and safety measures can be implemented at the park and employees can be re-hired and re-trained adequately.
Currently the park is still running its Taste of Boysenberry Festival, and this special limited time event will continue to be available as originally planned until May 2, after which we’d imagine the park will come back with limited capacity before ramping up as restrictions in this part of California are eased.
Guests who have season passes purchased prior to park opening should note that their passes will be valid for the remainder of 2021, plus a day-for-day extension in 2022 for the number of days the park has been closed.
After the park reopens this spring, guests can look forward to Knott’s Anniversary Celebration, which will kick off this summer and include the following:
- The opening of the reimagined Knott’s Bear-y Tales: Return to the Fair, which is a new dark ride will take guests on an exciting journey through reimagined show scenes from the classic dark ride, including the Boysenberry Pie Factory, Frog Forest, Fortune Teller Camp, Thunder Cave, and Weird Woods, culminating in a celebration at the County Fair.
- Evening entertainment including bands and DJs placed strategically throughout the park pumping out the tines during Knott’s Summer Nights evenings.
- Festive park décor, themed food items, unique entertainment and exclusive merchandise commemorating the anniversary.
