Kings Island’s main theme park season for 2023 is now over with Winterfest taking place on select evenings November 24 – December 31, 2023.
Kings Island has recently released its operating calendar for 2024, you can see the calendar by going to the official website, here. There are some interesting surprises and unfortunately these are not surprises in a good way.
Kings Island announced its 2024 operating calendar and there were a few surprises for fans of the Mason, OH amusement park, including 6 p.m. closes during the week in May, the park not staying open until midnight on the Fourth of July, and daily operation ending Aug. 12. pic.twitter.com/yqjyQEeJYg

As you can see from the tweet above, posted to Twitter by Don Helbig there are few surprising things included in this newly released calendar. Firstly, there are a number of 6pm closures in May including; 15th, 16th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd. Kings Island will close at the usual time of 10PM on July 4th rather than remaining open until midnight as has previously been the case.
What is perhaps most surprising of all is that Kings Island will cease daily operations after August 12 with August 13th, 14th, 15th, 19th, 20th, 21st, 26th, 27th, 28th, 29th all currently listed as “Closed”.
It leads us to wonder whether the recently announced merger between Cedar Fair and Six Flags has anything to do with these surprising changes to the operating calendar for Kings Island in 2024.
