Anyone who knows anything about Disney theme parks will most probably know that the Disneyland Paris Resort has never had the best reputation worldwide and the Walt Disney Studios Park has often got a particularly bad review.
Well, Disney indeed responded and the Walt Disney Studios Park expansion is well underway with the highly anticipated Avengers Campus which opened in summer 2022. It houses attractions including the rethemed Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, Avengers Assemble: Flight Force and SPIDER-MAN W.E.B. ADVENTURE, entertainment and character experiences, all of which are interconnected from a storytelling perspective, so as to immerse guests into the world of Marvel.
A new nighttime show called “Avengers: Power the Night” began at Walt Disney Studios Park on Jan. 28 and will run through May 8. The show includes drones, pyrotechnics and will pay tribute to Captain America, Captain Marvel, Scarlet Witch and Shang-Chi.
Back in April 2022 we heard details of another exciting land which aims to bring further much needed improvements to the Walt Disney Studios Park and that is ‘The Kingdom of Arendelle’ where guests will be able to step into Elsa and Anna’s ‘Frozen’ world. Initially, it was slated to open in 2023 however recent rumors are floating a 2025 opening date.
Last week, Disney posted a video on YouTube which is embedded below of the construction progress and what ‘The Kingdom of Arendelle’ currently looks like.
As you can see there is still a lot of work to be done but you can see key features are beginning to take shape. A new attraction is planned for this new land which will take guests on a journey with the classic ‘Frozen’ characters and Elsa’s Ice Castle will sit at the top of a 131-foot-high snow covered mountain.
There is also set to be a Norwegian-inspired Village with a new restaurant and shop and guests will have the opportunity to meet their favorite characters during a royal meet and greet.
A promenade will give you access into ‘The Kingdom of Arendelle’ and will be surrounded by themed gardens and green walkways. This promenade will also act as a transition to further themed areas which will surround the future lake.
Concept art was released in April 2022 of this new land, ‘The Kingdom of Arendelle’ and promenade which can be seen in the images above.
At the end of March 2022, Disney announced impressive plans for transforming Disney Village with construction planned to begin at the end of 2022. When the transformation is complete, Disney Village will be completely revitalised and will include a relaxing lakeside park and boardwalk, terraces and patios and extensive landscaping as well as a diverse range of dining and retail locations.
