As Hurricane Ian Moves Away From Orlando We Await News Of The Damage It Has Caused At Walt Disney World

UPDATE September 29, 3:20PM EST –  We are now told that Walt Disney World will begin a phased reopening starting tomorrow (Friday September, 30). More details are scheduled to be posted later today on the official Walt Disney World weather update website

September 29, 12:10PM EST –  At the time of writing we still await news of reopenings for the Walt Disney World Resort. Although it was originally hoped that the theme parks would reopen on Friday September 30, this is looking less likely based on current online rumors between Disney and its Cast Members.

However, still on the official Walt Disney World weather information page which was last updated at 12:10PM EST, it still just states that:

“Walt Disney World theme parks are temporarily closed on Thursday, Sept. 29:
    Magic Kingdom Park
    EPCOT
    Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park
    Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park (Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park is currently closed for the season.)
    Winter Summerland Miniature Golf
    Fantasia Gardens
    Fairways Miniature Golf”

There is still no mention of closures for tomorrow but we will keep you updated as soon as an announcement is made.

We also await news of the impact that Hurricane Ian has had at each theme park and the Resort as a whole and any damage the wind and water may have caused to buildings and attractions.
