Disney announced back in May 2022 that “Hey Disney!” would launch at Walt Disney World towards the end of the year. “Hey Disney!” is described as a new digital voice assistant which will use Alexa technology to bring Disney characters to life. At the end of November we got confirmation that “Hey Disney!” was now available in select rooms at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and is due to be rolled out to further Walt Disney World Resort hotels soon.
This week we have heard that Amazon is showcasing “Hey Disney!” at CES 2023, the influential tech event happening January 5 – 8 in Las Vegas. It has been announced that “Hey Disney!” will connect with MagicBand+, buzzing and lighting up when a timer or alarm goes off. The aim is by connecting “Hey Disney!” and MagicBand+ that it will enhance both services. It has also been confirmed that “Hey Disney!” will soon be available to purchase for use in your own home.
