Here’s How Every Ride Operating at Magic Kingdom is Handling Social Distancing

Though we know that the Walt Disney World experience will be a lot different when the parks reopen to the public, thanks to limited previews for Cast Members and Annual Passholders we now know how Disney is implementing social distancing measures on every single attraction. From plexiglass barriers to spaced out seating and modified preshows, here are all the changes made to every attraction at the Magic Kingdom to enforce social distancing during the reopening.

Note: This list only includes attractions that are currently running, which is why some attractions like The Country Bear Jamboree, The Tomorrowland Transit Authority Peoplemover, Tom Sawyer’s Island, and a few others were not included.

    Jungle Cruise

Guests riding the Jungle Cruise will be separated by party and parties will be kept physically distant by plexiglass dividers that have been installed on each boat. There will be no seating in the middle of the boats.

    The Magic Carpets of Aladdin

Only one party will be seated per flying carpet and will be spaced out during loading.

    Pirates of the Caribbean

Several rows on each boat will remain empty, with parties only loaded in rows 1 and 5 to maintain physical distance on the ride. Larger parties can sit together over multiple rows but they will not be seated with other parties.

    Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room

Seating will be staggered throughout the theater, with empty benches separating guests. Exiting will also be controlled so guests don’t run into one another moving through the doors.

    Swiss Family Treehouse

Hand sanitizing stations have been placed at this attractions and markers on the trail are there to remind parties to stay away from one another.

    The Hall of Presidents

The Hall of Presidents will seat guests individually by party with several seats left empty around each group to ensure social distancing.

    The Haunted Mansion

The stretching room pre-show has been totally eliminated and guests walk through this  part of the attraction like an extension of the queue and then are called by Cast Members to load by party into individual doom buggies.

    Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

Loading areas are separated by plexiglass, and only one party per cart are loaded, usually in the back row.

    Dumbo the Flying Elephant

The interactive play area of the queue has been closed off, and guests are loaded into the attraction while remaining separated from others.

    It’s a Small World

Guests are loaded by party into the first and fourth rows to maintain distance on this attraction.

    Mad Tea Party

Only a few parties will be able to ride this attraction at a time, with 2-4 teacups in use at a time, all distanced from one another.

    Mickey’s PhilharMagic

Guests will grab their own 3D Glasses, and will wait for the show in the large lobby area on small marked dots for each party. Guests will then move to the theater area and each party will be surrounded by empty seats.

    Peter Pan’s Flight

Only one party can board each ship, and parties are called individually to load to prevent groups clumping together

    Prince Charming Regal Carrousel

Guests will stand in a socially distanced line when waiting for this attraction and then when it is their turn to ride they will be escorted to a numbered row of horses just for their party that is away from other guests.

    Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

All interactive parts of this queue are turned off, and plexiglass dividers have been installed in waiting areas to keep parties separate. Guests will be loaded in every other row to maintain proper distance on this ride.

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh

The children’s play area inside this queue has been closed and parties are loaded into individual ride carts. Cast members are also disinfecting these ride carts regularly.

Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid

Parties are loaded into individual ride shells and are loaded strategically so that cast members can also be disinfecting these ride carts regularly.

    Splash Mountain

Only one party will be seated per log on this attraction, regardless of size.

    Astro Orbiter

Guests are brought up in reduced numbers through the elevator and seated in rockets that are distant from one another.

    Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin

This ride is loading normally but hand sanitizer stations have been installed at the load and unload areas.

    Space Mountain

Only one party is being seated per rocket and hand sanitizer is available at this attraction’s entrance.

    Tomorrowland Speedway

    This attraction is loading normally.

    Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress

This theater is being loaded with guests spaced out with empty seats in between parties.

As Walt Disney World continues its reopening, some of these policies may change, but we’ll be updating this post as we learn more!
