Ghostbusters Frozen Empire Announced as Eighth Haunted House For Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Florida

UPDATE June 29 – This week, Universal officially confirmed what we had all been expecting, there will be a haunted house at this years Halloween Horror Nights based on the popular Ghostbusters IP. Ghostbusters Frozen Empire is the eighth confirmed haunted house.

Being described as “An ancient artifact has released a chilling new entity, Garraka. Try not to freeze in fear as he freezes people before your eyes. Only the Ghostbusters can stop you from getting iced.”

June 17 – It had been a little bit quiet on the Universal Halloween Horror Nights front in the last couple of weeks but recently Universal has now confirmed the first IP themed haunted house for this years event.

A Quiet Place has now been confirmed by Universal which will not come as a surprise to many who have been following the Halloween Horror Nights speculation in recent months.

May 27 – It has been a brilliant couple of weeks for Universal Halloween Horror Nights fans as Universal confirms three more original haunted houses for this years event, now taking it to a total of six!

The fourth haunted house has been confirmed as The Museum: Deadly Exhibit which is certainly not your usual museum. This new folklore museum exhibit, The Rotting Stone is where an evil escapes from within which is destroying everything in its path.

The fifth haunted house has been announced as Monstruos: The Monsters of Latin America where La Muerte will be your guide to three terrifying legends: Tlahuelpuchi, La Lechuza and El Silbon Monstruos. 

And, finally we have just been introduced to the sixth haunted house which is Triplets of Terror where you have an invite to the Barmy triplets’ birthday party which is sure to be a gory gathering where they celebrate by recreating their family’s murders. 

It is certainly exciting to see that six of the ten haunted houses at this years Halloween Horror Nights 33 are based on original themes. May 22- Universal continues to excite fans as two more haunted houses are announced for this years Halloween Horror Nights event at Universal Orlando Resort.

We now have confirmation of “Goblin’s Feast Tavern” where guests will visit the goblin village where a lavish feast is being prepared for goblins, orcs, hobgoblins and witches. The only problem is, you are the main course!

We also have confirmation of another haunted house called “Major Sweets Candy Factory” where guests have been invited to chaperone a field trip to a candy factory. However, the deadly delicious treats turn the kids into sugar-fueled fiends.

We look forward to news from Universal of further haunted houses coming to Halloween Horror Nights 33 at Universal Orlando Resort.

 May 18 – After a week of teasers, Universal has now confirmed the first haunted house at this years Halloween Horror Nights 33 event at Universal Orlando Resort.

It may come as a surprise to many Universal fans that the newly released haunted house is not based on an IP. It is called Slaughter Sinema 2 and is a sequel to the original concept house Slaughter Sinema that featured in the 2018 event. This house is described as “If you’re dying for a b-movie horror marathon, head to to Carey Drive-in. Scream through scenes from creature features, grindhouse gore, spaghetti westerns and more.”

May 16 – It has been a good week for Universal horror fans as Universal has released another teaser video for this years Halloween Horror Nights 33 event at Universal Orlando Resort.

The video which was posted to YouTube with the title “Fear Cannot Be Contained”, certainly builds the hype further but still doesn’t actually confirm what we are going to see. Speculation online still points to Stranger Things being included especially with the reflection of the upside down Universal archway. We know something is definitely coming but we just aren’t sure exactly what it is going to be. Let’s be real though, we do know for sure that whatever it is, it should certainly thrill Halloween Horror Nights fans.

May 14 – Horror fans are well and truly coming into their best time of year as more and more hints and details become available regarding Universal Halloween Horror Nights 33 at Universal Orlando Resort.

In a recently posted video to X by Halloween Horror Nights we get to see another hint as to what we can expect to see at this years highly anticipated event.

Is this another hint that we are going to see the Ghostbusters return to Universal Orlando Resort this year?

April 5 -With excitement continuing to build for this years Halloween Horror Nights, we now have confirmation of the official dates for Universal Orlando Resort as well as the number of haunts and scare zones.

According to the official Universal Orlando Resort website we can see that Halloween Horror Nights will run on select nights between August 30 and November 3, 2024:

  • August: 30, 31
  • September: 1, 4-8, 11-15, 18-22, 25-29
  • October: 2-6, 9-13, 16-20, 23-27, 30-31
  • November: 1-3

Single-Night tickets can now be purchased ranging from $82.99-$122.99 per person per night plus tax, depending on your chosen date. 

It has also been confirmed that Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando Resort this year will have 10 haunted houses and 5 scare zones as well as a range of live entertainment.
