Further Details Unveiled About Headlining Attraction In Wizarding World Ministry of Magic At Universal Epic Universe!

UPDATE April 19 – Work continues to progress on Universal Epic Universe which is set to open in summer 2025. In a new video construction update posted to YouTube by Theme Park Stop all the latest developments are discussed regarding the progress in each of the lands.

One of the most interesting points to note is that at timestamp 6:15 we get to see further details about the main attraction in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter The Minstry of Magic which is expected to be called Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry. Captured in a TikTok video, what is thought to be one of the ride vehicles for this attraction may have been seen being transported along the Highway. Simtec Systems GMBH is the contractor that is listed in the notice of Commencement and appeared quite visibly on the side of the container.

We hear further details about the ride vehicles for this main attraction which are thought to be large elevator style vehicles sitting on top of a motion base which will run along a track. They are described as being like the elevator vehicles for Tower of Terror but sat on a simulator base like Star Tours whilst running along a track like The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman.

At timestamp 7:21 a patent is explained showing the ride vehicle  which will be capable of not only three accesses of movement (rotational- pitch, roll and yaw) but it will also have the ability to go up and down.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Ministry of Magic – scaffolding continues to be removed revealing paintwork on the Parisian buildings which feature throughout the land. At timestamp 5:18 we get to see the addition of a Fantastic Beasts inspired mural on one of the buildings. The streets and sidewalks are now being paved.

March 19 – It’s certainly all go at Universal Epic Universe as we continue to see huge progress being made on this highly anticipated new theme park which is opening in 2025.

In a new video posted to YouTube by Coaster Studios we get to see footage of two major roller coasters testing at Universal Epic Universe. The MACK Rides swing launch, Curse of the Werewolf roller coaster in the Dark Universe Land and Intamin multi-launch, How To Train Your Dragon roller coaster in How To Train Your Dragon Isle of Burke have both now begun test runs which is very exciting to see.

Also in the video embedded above you can see how a number of other areas of Universal Epic Universe currently look including; Starfall Racers, Burning Blade Tavern, Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment, How To Train Your Dragon Portal, How To Train Your Dragon, Great Hall Restaurant, Super Nintendo World, Donkey Kong Mine Kart Madness, Donkey Kong Waterfall, Mount Beanpole, Universal’s Stella Nova Resort, Universal’s Terra Luna Resort and the Universal Helios Grand Hotel.

March 17 – In another update from Epic Universe this week, we get to see the official unveiling of the vehicles for the Yoshi Adventure ride which will be located in Super Nintendo World.

This unveiling can be seen below in the video posted to YouTube by WESH 2 News. The vibrant red, blue and green ride carts have now been uncovered. It is also confirmed in the video that Universal is already working on expansions for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Super Nintendo World.

It is very exciting to see the concept art and permit information coming to life at Universal Epic Universe and we will continue to update you on further elements as they are made.

March 13 – It has been a very exciting week so far for Universal fans as we have seen the new trains revealed for the headlining roller coaster, Starfall Racers.

In a new video posted to YouTube by Theme Park Stop we get to see further footage of these new trains and other interesting details.

The Starfall Racers trains are confirmed to have 20 seats in total, 5 cars of 4 seats and as the two trains will be deployed simultaneously that is a total of 40 riders at a time. The trains are expected to feature LED lights and due to the confirmation from Universal that Starfall Racers will not have an external track lighting, the trains will appear to be comets shooting across the nights sky which should create a very exciting spectacle.

The rumor that Starfall Racers would include on-ride audio has been confirmed on the official Universal Orlando Resort website, “Race along an inverted crisscross, known as the “Celestial Spin” in a dazzling display of blazing colors and ethereal music.

Although the composer for Celestial Park has not yet been confirmed, it is rumored that it will contain an all new soundtrack specifically created for the land. We assume this will include the on-ride audio for Starfall Racers.

The very exciting element to draw your attention to from these new aerial photos of the trains for Starfall Racers is the Easter Egg which looks to be from Back To The Future in the form of a flux capacitor.

In the new video posted to YouTube by Theme Park Stop which is embedded above this can be seen at timestamp 2:30. Although it is currently covered in a blue protective film, the shape looks to be very similar to the flux capacitor and this would certainly be a very cool addition.

March 11 – For many Universal fans, the headlining roller coaster, Starfall Racers, will be top of their to-do list at Universal Epic Universe when it opens in 2025.

In a very exciting new set of photo posted to Twitter by Bioreconstruct  we get to see the train for Starfall Racers on the track from a number of different positions.

We can see from the photo that Starfall Racers will use the overhead lap bar restraints now common on new MACK rides roller coasters such as Copperhead Strike at Carowinds and ICON at Pleasure Beach Resort. We are currently unsure whether Universal will opt to include the car at the back of its trains with modified seats to accommodate larger riders but indeed hope that they do.

It also appears that the trains are covered in dots all over the nose cone and on the side of the cars which are likely lights to illuminate the roller coaster at night as is the case with Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit at Universal Studios Florida. Coupled with the interstellar colors purple, red and orange this roller coaster is set to look amazing in the dark.

Do you like the trains for Starfall Racers? Should Universal opt for the modified seats at the back of the roller coaster? Let us know your thoughts by leaving us a comment below or on our Facebook page.

Tree roots and rock work can begin to be seen under the scrims for the entrance portal to the Dark Universe. A lot of work has been done on the sloped roof of the barn structure which will surround the swing launch on what is thought to be The Curse of the Werewolf roller coaster. Rockwork mesh chips have been added to the roller coasters second launch and roof work is being done on the station building. Half of the roof for the land’s stage show is also now complete.

This second dome is thought to house the queue line for the carousel attraction which will be located in the larger dome. Work continues on the fountains on the central lagoon and a foundation has been poured for the park’s lower water feature.

The Seating area is being installed surrounding the large fountain display which will also be the location for a rumored night-time fireworks display.

More trees have been planted and landscaping continues for the dual track launched roller coaster. New decorative structures are being added to the front section of the ride facing the park’s hub which are believed to be themed to a space theme including a rocket.

It is so exciting to see the progress being made on Universal’s third gate and we will continue to update you with the developments over the coming weeks and months.

June 29 – We continue to closely follow the construction progress of Epic Universe and today we bring you information from the latest video update posted to YouTube by Exploring Attractions.

As can be seen in the video embedded below, landscaping is beginning on the site of the dual-racing coaster with the addition of some mature trees. You can also see grass being laid at the rumored Wolfman roller coaster in the Dark Universe land where developments are also being made on the entry portal.

We assume work is continuing on the inside of the e-ticket attraction in the Dark Universe which has been rumored online to be Frankenstein’s Castle as there doesn’t appear to be any developments on the exterior and facade since the last update.

Work is happening at How To Train Your Dragon Land and a new dragon head has appeared on one of the Viking boats, there looks to be three Viking boats in total. A wooden structure has been erected with a pillar on either side on the How To Train Your Dragon coaster. We await further details regarding where the launch will be.

In regards to Super Nintendo World, theming work is taking place on the wall of the Donkey Kong mine coaster which could be mountains or an effect of some kind as it is speculated that guests will be made to feel like they are jumping between the tracks so a show element of some kind is expected. A steel covering is now in place over the escalators at the entrance to Super Nintendo World which will take guests up to Princess Peaches castle.

At The Wizarding World land work appears to continue on the entry portal. A ticket sales building is being constructed in the central hub where there is continued talk of a potential space theme. It will be interesting to see if this comes to fruition.

UPDATE June 19 –  Work on Epic Universe is progressing at an amazing rate and we bring you highlights from the latest photo update posted (June 19) to Twitter from Bioreconstruct.

Surely one of the highlights for coaster enthusiasts when Epic Universe opens ready for summer 2025 will be the dual-racing coaster. In the first photo below you can see an aerial overview of the East side of the park with the dual-racing coaster dominating this area.

Here is a close up aerial photo of the progress being made on this highly anticipated roller coaster. As you can see there is only one last section of yellow track to be added to complete the circuit which is expected to be put in place imminently.

There currently appears to be two gaps to complete in the green track, one can be seen in the photo below and the other is located near the gap in the yellow track. You can also see work progressing on the roof of the station building.

Here is an aerial photo showing the entire dual-racing coaster as it currently stands.

We love this photo below showing where the trains will cross over each other 5 times in this area. It is certainly going to be a thrilling ride for all!

Right, now for the rest of the park, we see work being done on the roof of the Paris-themed building in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter land.

Progress is being made on the roller coaster in the rumored Dark Universe area of the park.

We can also see progress in Super Nintendo World including work on Mario Kart, Donkey Kong roller coaster and Mushroom Kingdom.

There is so much excitement surrounding this roller coaster and it is so amazing to see the speed of progress that is being made on Universal’s Third Gate.

Here is the update from May 20, in the first image posted earlier this week is of the rumored How To Train Your Dragon Land and includes a newly revealed painted statue in the center of the photo, new rock work and scrims now covering what is thought to be ships being sculpted.

Here is a closer up photo of the recently painted sculpture which appears to take center stage in the land.

Finally in the How To Train Your Dragon Land there is a couple of close up views of how the theater attraction currently looks with the seating is place and we are expecting to see the roof being installed soon.

The facade work in the rumored Harry Potter Land can be seen below.

Here is an update on the rumored Dark Universe land showing an aerial overview of how it currently looks including the portal, the featured attraction fronted by the manor and the shuttling, spinning roller coaster.

The dual-racing roller coaster is really taking shape with the first launch positioned to the left of the photo and the tall green supports showing the highest points for the track. Also visible in front of the dual-racing roller coaster is a section of the track for the rumored How To Train Your Dragon roller coaster.

Finally, work has began on the first concrete wall for the new Universal Orlando Resort South of Epic Universe.

As usual for a full round up of all the aerial photos from Bioreconstruct head to the twitter page. We can also see from the Orlando Park Stop Epic Universe update that work has been done on Super Nintendo World with the portal having received framing for what is expected to be the escalators to take guests up to Peaches castle to enter the land as is the case in Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan.

The supports for the beacon on the Super Nintendo World portal are now in place and this is expected to be a number of colorful pipes. Each land will have a themed beacon on their portal to help with way finding within Epic Universe.

Work is taking place on the attractions within the land including structures being enclosed in the mushroom kingdom courtyard such as the Mario Kart Ride and Yoshi’s Adventure and the portal into the Donkey Kong mini land is beginning to take shape. The Donkey Kong mine cart attraction is receiving theming including golden bricks along the facade and work is being done on the water feature. Work continues on a potential merchandise store and restaurant.

A lot of work is also being done at the central hub with footings now complete for the structures for the domed roof of the flat ride which is expected to be called Constellation Carosel. These structures are now beginning to be put in place and it appears that there there will be an opening so riders have the opportunity to see out to the rest of the park and the water feature which the ride sits on.

A maze of water pipes are being installed leading to the water pump room which was installed underneath this central attraction which will feed the central lagoon and water falls at the entrance to the park. Pipes are starting to be installed for decorative water fountains also expected in the central lagoon area of the park.

The front of the park will also have a lagoon where the octagonal tiered full service restaurant will be located.

We get to see images of the new track for the dualing coaster which sits in the central position of the park. This new track has been installed in recent weeks on top of the station building and will be the dualing coaster’s final breakrun. The supports are in place in readiness for the track to be installed for the latter part of the ride including the second launch which sits above the maintenance bay as well as the tallest part of the roller coaster.

New steels has been installed for what is believed to be the covered walk way at the entrance to the park and work appears to have started on the large entry arch.

The portal for what is thought to be the Dark Universe area has seen construction work on the beacon which is rumored to be a large antennae reminiscent of Frankenstein. Mesh framing looks to be like tree roots which wraps around the portal and also includes rock work which has received a top coat.

The new Trademark, Oddities & Monstrosities has been filed and could be used for the retail store. The main attraction building is still covered as work continues on the facade and it has long been rumored that this attraction will use a similar ride system to Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey and a notice of commencement has now come to light which names KUKA Robotics Corporation as the contractor which was the company that produced the robotic arms for Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey.

In the rumored How To Train Your Dragon land, work is taking place on the two huge Dragon statues as well as work on the scenic boats which will be part of the lagoon. The Walls of the lagoon have been painted to look man made and a bridge is being built over the lagoon. Foundations have been added for the two spinning rides and there appears to be the start of a kids play area emerging.

Additional facades continue to be worked and details are being added to the Parisian facades in the rumored Wizarding World of Harry Potter land. Super Nintendo World, Universal

You can clearly see the developments that are being made on Epic Universe from the video which is embedded below. Firstly, it takes a look at what is thought to be the Universal Classic Monsters land where you can see the track layout for the proposed multi-launch family style coaster with spinning elements. This will be set in a land which has a focus on inevitable scary elements. Halloween Horror Nights fans are rumored to being treated to a scaled down version of the popular event year round within this land.

The building which will house the main dark ride attraction which is expected to be themed to all Universal Classic Monsters can be clearly seen in the aerial footage. This attraction is speculated to include jump scares and therefore not be suitable for younger children. It could include similarities with Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. The entrance to the rumored Universal Classic Monsters land will have dining locations and shops.

The video shows footage of the center of the park shows where a night-time spectacular similar to World of Color from Disney California Adventure Park is speculated to be performed and the location of the hotel entrance. When looking at the area which is speculated to be The Wizarding World of Harry Potter you get to see the sheer size of this land which is expected to be a step up from Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Florida.

Construction on the vivid yellow and green duelling rollercoaster is progressing rapidly and it leaves theme park enthusiasts feverishly speculating around the potential theming for it.

We will continue to keep you posted on all developments taking place at Epic Universe. What theme would you like to see the duelling rollercoaster to have? Which land are you most excited about? Let us know your thoughts by leaving us a comment below or on our Facebook page.

Epic Universe, Universal

You can also see a photo of Epic Universe which includes the Roller coaster in Classic Monsters land, the Monsters coaster station and service building, Super Nintendo World framing and the Theater in How To Train Your Dragon land.

At the end of January we saw the addition of a frame for a large statue in the proposed How To Train Your Dragon land, more supports for dual-racing coaster, supports for Classic Monsters coaster, tower crane in Harry Potter land  and traffic lights on Epic Blvd.

You can compare the video below showing aerial helicopter footage for the whole of Epic Universe from January with the most recent video above.

In the video you can clearly see work being done on the How to Train Your Dragon roller coaster, The Ministry of Magic in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, The Classic Monsters land and Super Nintendo World with the Donkey Kong roller coaster Although these lands and still not officially confirmed, the rumors appear to be confirmed by the layouts and attractions we are beginning to see.

The Center of Epic Universe is speculated to have a lagoon area which is expected to have a show which could be similar to World of Color – ONE which is coming to Disney California Adventure Park. It is also expected to have a water based restaurant. The video is embedded below.

December 13 – We are closely following the construction progress of Epic Universe and a number of aerial photos have been posted on twitter by Bioreconstruct including this one which shows how Super Nintendo World currently looks.

The different areas of Super Nintendo World and marked onto the photo to give you perspective of the layout of the land. You can definitely see that progress is being made on this exciting new land at Epic Universe.

December 6 – During a UBS Investor Conference call on Monday, CEO Jeff Shell made two main points relating to Epic Universe. Firstly he confirmed that despite some supply chain concerns, Epic Universe is on track to open ready for Summer 2025.

Secondly, there was mention that Epic Universe may work well with Convention visitors due to the park being split into clear lands that they could be accessed separately. ” …the park is built so that you can come into one land and not the whole park.”

September 6 – Any Universal fan will be closely following the progress of the highly anticipated Epic Universe which is slated to open ready for summer 2025. A new aerial photograph from Bioreconstruct shows the current progress.

Each land is becoming more into focus and we can see work having been done on what we assume will be the How to Train Your Dragon and Yoshi’s Adventure in what will be Super Nintendo World.

We recently posted an article which included a photograph from Bioreconstruct of the progress that had been made on the construction of the Universe Classic Monsters land.

July 13 – It is full steam ahead now on Universal’s third gate, Epic Universe and in an interesting aerial view posted by Bioreconstruct we can start to see a proposed layout for the park emerging.

There has also been a number of rumors recently that there will be a Wizarding World expansion based on the Ministry of Magic at Epic Universe. Guests would enter the main hall through the Floo network and exit through the fire places using special effects. It is speculated that this land would include an attraction to be located in the Ministry’s atrium which is said to feature the story surrounding the trials of Dolores Umbridge.

Originally a trackless ride was proposed which now seems to have been scrapped. There has been nothing officially confirmed regarding these rumors but it seems like bringing the Ministry of Magic to Epic Universe would make perfect sense due to the popularity of the Wizarding World at both Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure.

Ministry of Magic, Warner Bros.

From the suggested layout seen on this aerial photograph above it looks like the Ministry of Magic would be positioned towards the back of the park. Let us know if you would like to see the Ministry of Magic come to Epic Universe by voting in our poll below.

June 18 – It is exciting times for Universal fans now that we have a confirmed opening date for Epic Universe and progress is pushing ahead. This week, a tweet shows track arriving for what looks to be an Intamin coaster which is the same as VelociCoaster and Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure. Although nothing has been confirmed, this coaster is thought to be for a family coaster themed to How to Train Your Dragon.

January 27 – It has certainly been a rocky ride for Epic Universe over the last couple of years. Epic Universe was first announced back in 2019 and was originally expected to open in 2023. It was then delayed indefinitely in April 2020 and an opening date of 2024 was predicted.

During the Comcast 2021 Q4 earnings call this morning it was announced that Epic Universe is now planning to officially open its gates ready for Summer 2025. This is definitely positive news for Universal fans as the progress of Epic Universe has been very unknown in recent months.

Reporter, Gabrielle Runson confirmed, in a tweet, the 2025 opening date which came from the morning earnings call:

We know that when Epic Universe opens as Universal Orlando Resorts third gate it will make it the largest Universal theme park in North America. We now know that Super Nintendo World will be included and we still await confirmation of themed lands based on IPs from both Illumination (which has produced hits like the Despicable Me and The Secret Life of Pets series) and DreamWorks Animation (Which is known for Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda and How to Train Your Dragon).

How to train your dragon, Universal

Though it has long-been assumed that this new park would feature another expansion of the blockbuster Wizarding World of Harry Potter lands, this has still not been confirmed yet.

It seems like every week you can see more and more progress being made on the attractions and lands they occupy. We will continue to update you with these developments as we head through 2023 on our news and Facebook page. What are you most excited about in Epic Universe?
