Fun Spot in Orlando is once again getting bad press this week as it is reported by ClickOrlando.com that after their third inspection by Orange County’s strike team they are still failing to enforce mask wearing by guests on their rides.
Back in August Fun Spot in Orlando failed it’s first surprise COVID-19 Compliance Test due to the fact that many guests were not wearing masks inside the park despite clear signage.
Fun Spot was inspected for the second time on September 3, where it was reported that improvements had been made to social distancing rules as well as with employees wearing masks. The key problem again was that a “noncompliance issue remains with patrons not wearing masks on rides.”
When Fun Spot in Orlando was visited by the Orange County’s strike team for the third time on September 25, 2020 the park was still deemed not to be compliant on the issue of ensuring guests were wearing masks whilst on rides.
Orange County are likely to have a mask mandate for many months to come and it is reported that the role of the Orange County strike team is to educate businesses rather than handing out fines and penalties.
Theme Parks and businesses as a whole have mostly stepped up to the enforcing of necessary measures and procedures to try to prevent the spread of COVID-19. It is disappointing that Fun Spot in Orlando is still failing to ensure it’s guests are following the rules in place and keeping masks on while on rides. It is, however, encouraging that since the first inspection that social distancing has improved and that the park’s employees are all now wearing masks.
Hopefully Fun Spot in Orlando can quickly get necessary procedures in place to ensure they finally get the all clear from the Orange County strike team and are at last labelled as being COVID-19 compliant.
