UPDATE June 13 – Today was originally the official opening date for the much anticipated Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond! at Disney’s Animal Kingdom but the show actually opened yesterday meaning there are a number of full show videos already out there on Youtube.
Early reviews appear to be mixed with many seeing the shortened show as being more kid friendly and enjoyable where as others see it as a watered down version which doesn’t live up to the original. For anyone wanting to see the show without actually going to the show, you can take a look at the video posted by WDW News below.
UPDATE June 11 – Disney has released a number of new photos of the upcoming Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond! which is officially opening on June 13. It certainly looks like an impressive show filled with color and action.
UPDATE June 8 – We now know the showtimes for Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond! which is returning to Disney’s Animal Kingdom on Monday June 13, 2022. There will be six shows a day which are currently scheduled for 10:30AM, 11:30AM, 12:30AM, 2:30PM, 3:30PM and 4:30PM. These show times are subject to change so be sure to check out the official calendar here for the specific times for the date of your visit.
UPDATE June 5 – It has now been confirmed that Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond! will return to Disney’s Animal Kingdom on Monday June 13, 2022. The new updated show will run for 25 minutes and will be available as part of the $15 per guest, per day Genie+ service at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The schedule for performances hasn’t currently been released yet with “no performance today” still being shown on the official website. We will update you with show times when they are announced.
March 30 – Disney confirmed in 2021 that the popular Finding Nemo show would be reworked and make a come back to Walt Disney World in 2022, named ‘Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond!’
From a recent Instagram post which was posted by Jared and Lindsay Bradshaw, who will both be appearing in the show, we now know that casting is complete and rehearsals began on Monday, March 28. We also know that rehearsals are expected to last for one to two months meaning we could see an opening for Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond! as early as May 2022.
Since writing this article, the Instagram post has mysteriously vanished from Jared and Lindsay Bradshaw’s account (broadwaybradshaws) making us wonder if Disney wasn’t too pleased that information regarding rehearsals for the Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond! was being shared on social media.
Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond! will be coming to the Theater in the Wild at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and will be set in the timeline of the Finding Dory film, incorporating events from the sequel. Fan-favorite songs from “Finding Nemo the Musical” will return in this new version of the show, including “In the Big Blue World” and “Go with the Flow.”
