Epcot is Closing the Entire Center of Future World After This Weekend

Though much of the central area of Epcot has been closed off since the end of the holiday season, after this weekend, Epcot will be walling off the entirety of the center of Future World, from the back of Spaceship Earth to the World Showcase Bridge.

Beginning next week, guests who visit Epcot once they enter the park will need to take one of two walkways to get around the construction; one on the left which will lead to Test Track and Mission: Space, and the other on the right which will take guests to The Seas With Nemo and Friends as well as The Land, and Imagination Pavilions.

Because of this additional walling off, there will be several closures that will go in to effect this weekend, including the following:

1 Electric Umbrella

It has been confirmed that the Electric Umbrella will be closing on February 16 to make way for the new “World Discovery” area of the park.{reparations are being made near the temporary MouseGear location for a temporary outside dining location that will use the former Taste Track kiosk and serve sandwiches, burgers, and fries, and nearby Sunshine Seasons at the Land pavilion will be adding chicken nuggets and other fast fare to its menu to help fill the void left by this closure.

2. Phineas and Ferb Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure

Phineas and Ferb Agent P’s Epcot World Showcase Adventure will close on February 17th, 2020 to make way for the similar Disney’s DuckTales World Showcase Adventure.

This reimagined adventure will open later this year and invites guests to join Scrooge McDuck, Donald, Launchpad, Webby, and the nephews in search of priceless treasure. Using the Play Disney Parks mobile app, guests take a trip around World Showcase discovering exotic destinations, exciting mysteries, and maybe even a few thieves, villains and more.

3. Pin Central

Though the merchandise from the former Pin Central kiosk behind Spaceship Earth has long since moved to where the former Camera Center was next to the entrance of Spaceship Earth, the kiosk was still standing and selling merchandise over the past few weeks. However, because of where the walls are going up at this park, this kiosk will no longer be available after February 17th, and will be closed permanently.

4. Sidewalk lights

Another victim of the wall placement will be the colorful sidewalk lights that are on the side of the park near where the Character Spot used to be. Unfortunately, because this whole area will be blocked off, the last day for guests to take photos with these iconic lights will be today, February 15, 2020.

Though these giant walls in the center or Epcot will be a bit of an obstacle for guests, Epcot will be putting plenty of signage up over the next few days to hep guests navigate while this park is in transition.
