Encanto was one of the most talked about films in 2021 and the Walt Disney Animation Studios film has just won the Academy Award for best-animated feature at this year’s Oscars. Many Disney fans have wondered how this enormously popular film could be brought to life at Walt Disney World and Disneyland.
Well, beginning April 11 for a limited time, Encanto will get its chance to shine when at certain points in the evening, the facade of the popular ‘It’s a small world’ attraction at Disneyland will be transformed with lighting effects and projections for the movie’s infamous song ‘We Don’t Talk About Bruno’.
The facade is set to be used in a clever way with lighting effects showing the tiles flipping, turning and rearranging themselves as they do in the movie on the Madrigal family’s Casita.
There hasn’t been an official schedule for when the light projection will be shown on the facade of ‘It’s A Small World’. Some sites are reporting that the first show will be at 9:00PM and then will be repeated at certain intervals until park closing.
Fans of Encanto at Disneyland will also be in for a treat when the iconic ‘Main Street Electrical Parade’ at Disneyland Park returns on April 22, 2022. To celebrate the parades 50th anniversary there will be an all new grand finale which will feature a combination of classic Disney characters as well as some new additions to the Disney family including Mirabel and Antonio from Encanto.
If the Encanto projection at Disneyland proves popular, it makes us wonder whether Disney will bring it to Disney’s Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World at some point during the 50th Anniversary celebrations.
We think it is very likely that Encanto will inevitably make its mark on the Disney parks in the future in a big way and it will be exciting to see just how Disney will do it.
